Who is malala?
Malala is a 15 year old girl from Mingora, Pakistan. She attended Khushal Public School until she was about 11, this was when the Taliban had started not allowing girls to go to school. But, Malala didn’t agree. She had still wanted to go to school like all the boys in her neighborhood but she could be arrested or even killed.
Rejected
Malala was only 11 years old when her school started rejecting girls to attend. But, Malala continued to attend school and started to notice the population of girls at her school get slimmer and slimmer each day. She soon started protesting about girls not having an education. She appeared on the news, many talk shows, started a blog, and started the Malala fund dedicated just to helping children without an education, to hopefully gain one. Malala and her family had thought it was wrong that the Taliban had banned girls from school, Malala’s father, Ziauddin Yousafzai kept his school open to all girls no matter what would happen.
Tragedy
But it wasn’t until October 9, 2012 when a real tragedy struck. Malala was shot (in the head) by a man in the Taliban. She was on her way home from school, on the bus when this man struck her. The left side of her face was paralyzed but luckily she lived. She is very lucky to be alive today. And she continues to support her fund. She has also won the Nobel Peace Prize and has left a huge impact on teens all over the world. There are also many children so impacted by Malala, that they too have started foundations about her and other children that need and education.
